CHAMBER NEWS

Supercharge your business at Festival of Enterprise 2019

The Chamber is delighted to be in partnership with the Festival of Enterprise, taking place at the NEC in Birmingham on 23–24 October. The event is designed to help

businesses grow faster by providing organisations with the opportunity to escape the paperwork and concentrate on scaling up. This shows in the statistics -

according to the ScaleUp Institute, scaleups bring in £1.3tn of the £1.9tn generated by all UK SMEs. The remainder is brought in by millions of companies not making anywhere near as much of an impact as they could. There are clearly a few secrets

that need to be revealed to help these remaining SMEs succeed and luckily for them, over 150 experts in business growth will take the stage at the festival to do just that. The festival is set to be opened

by experienced entrepreneur, Lord Bilimoria, the founder of Cobra Beer. Recently joining the stellar line-up, Lord Bilimoria said: “I'm delighted to join the Festival of Enterprise. The subject is close to my heart - business and entrepreneurship. I know about the satisfaction that comes from building an enterprise from scratch and seeing it grow, but I also know about the troubles that can come along and cause disruption to the best thought-out business plans.

So, I look forward very much to sharing advice and experience with our audience at the NEC.” Attendees will also learn about

key growth strategies and tactics from speakers who have achieved outstanding goals from expert companies including Google, Linkedin, Snapchat and Hewlett Packard Enterprises. And with over 5,000 other business owners, entrepreneurs and leaders, it is a great place to meet suppliers that can support growth ambitions, along with meeting people who have the ability to inspire those ambitions. Managing Director for the Festival

of Enterprise, James Ashwood, said: “Over the past three years we have learned a great deal about the types of information and services business owners and CEOs are looking for to support their growth ambitions. This has enabled us to create such an exciting programme. “Not only are we offering world-

class advice from business-growth experts, we are also offering real- life case studies from successful entrepreneurs who have the achievements and battle scars to speak with authority about what it takes to innovate and succeed in today’s business environments. This really is an event not to be missed.” Entrepreneur and Startup specialist, Piers Linney, has joined

Lord Bilimoria, founder of Cobra Beer (left) and start-up expert Piers Linney “Google Cloud offers the tools

the festival as one of the speakers. He is perhaps best known for his appeareances on BBC Two’s Dragons' Den and Channel 4's The Secret Millionaire. He said: “I’m delighted to be speaking at the Festival of Enterprise, which is providing brilliant advice to help businesses grow. I’ll be talking about my Startup with Piers Linney course and look forward to sharing this at the NEC in October.” The exhibition part of the festival

will be packed with everyone from small solution providers through to tech giants. Speaking about their attendance

at the event, Product Marketing Manager David Taylor said: “Google Cloud is excited to join the Festival of Enterprise with its focus on strategies to scale up.

needed to transform the way businesses work and to help them build a modern infrastructure that will scale with them. The Google Cloud team will be hosting a full agenda of seminars on how some of our customers have transformed the way they work with G Suite and how this has helped them to rapidly scale their businesses.” The Chamber will have a stand at

the Festival – come and say hello to us on stand D4. We would love to offer you any advice about how we can help your business move forward in these uncertain times.

The festival is free to attend. To book your place or a stand for your own business, please go to www.festivalofenterprise.co.uk
