Ashburton An ideal holiday destination for Dartmoor, the coast, historic Exeter and Plymouth, with its continental ferry service. With fantastic scenery, walking, cycling, pony trekking, canoeing and fishing, this part of Dartmoor is very popular.
Ashburton Carnival week starts at the end of June, there is also the Belstone Known for the Belstone and Oke Tor, Yes Tor and High Willhays. Fun Run, The Duck Race at Cleder Place and the Party In Holne is a romantic beautiful little hamlet nestling in the lee of the Two Moors Way, and is set amidst some of the most magnificent scenery in Devon, where the River Dart is seen foaming over its rocky bed, between steep and shelving banks, and lofty wooded hills.
The River Dart is crossed near Holne by two good medieval bridges.
There is a high end hotel, restaurants, and pubs, caravan/camping sites and guest houses. Cornwood Combines the villages of Corntown and Lutton. The Cornwood Agricultural Show is held in August and nearby is the Dartmoor Zoo at Sparkwell .

Okehampton Castle ruins - a short distance from the town centre. The Okehampton Show - at the Stoney Park Showground in early August, a great DAY OUT for all the family.
Buckfastleigh Best known for the impressive Buckfast Abbey and the Mead made by the resident Monks. The town is also known for the Valiant Soldier Pub Museum and other amenities. Local events include Lamb Pie Day in the spring and the May Fun Day. Attractions include the South Devon Railway and the Totnes Rare Breeds Farm, adjoining this is the Butterfly/Otter Sanctuary. Nearby is the old racecourse with various events and Pennywell Farm which is popular with children.
Cornwood Combines the villages of Corntown and Lutton.

Okehampton A large market town and a gateway to Dartmoor.
There are plenty of attractions including: Museum of Dartmoor Life - three floors of Dartmoor’s history, from the Bronze Age to the present.
Folly Gate, Inwardleigh and Abbeyford Woods - these lovely surrounding villages are all worth a visit. Belstone Known for the Belstone and Oke Tor, Yes Tor and High Willhays. Nearby Cosdon Hill and Wild Tor provide challenging walks including the delightful Belstone to Rowtor Walk.
Sticklepath Has the last working water powered forge in England, Finch Foundry. Nearby, South Zeal is interesting and South Tawton has a Heritage Visitor Centre.
Thorndon Cross & Meldon These villages, with picturesque valley and reservoir, are delightful.
Sourton A pretty village, below Sourton Tors. Bridestow A base from which to explore Dartmoor and the adjacent Great Links Tor.
Near this large village is the hamlet of Lake with Deep Valley and Lake Down.
The Lake Viaduct at Lake Down is now part of the multi use recreational route, the Granite Way.
