Robin Hood card gets ‘legen-Dairy’ rebrand
The branding around Nottingham’s Robin Hood travel card is set to undergo a significant revamp thanks to a new partnership between the Robin Hood Network (RHN) and West Bridgford-based creative agency The Dairy. The card provides integrated
bus, tram and train travel across the RHN, which stretches to Hucknall in the north, Clifton in the south, Burton Joyce in the east and Bramcote in the west. Many of Nottinghamshire’s major transport operators are part of the RHN including Nottingham City

Transport, trentbarton, Nottingham Express Transit and East Midlands Trains. The Robin Hood card has proven
very popular with public transport users across Nottinghamshire since its inception in December 2015, with around 17,000 people using the card across the network. There is now a need for its
branding to be refreshed. Jordan Kemp, of the Robin Hood
Network Marketing Group, said: “The Robin Hood card resonates with the people of Nottinghamshire because of its links to our famous outlaw. “Over time, several marketing agencies have worked on the collateral surrounding the brand, meaning its look and feel has become disjointed. “We felt it was time to employ one agency to refresh the entire
suite of collateral and The Dairy Creative Agency was the stand-out partner to take the Robin Hood card forward.” Nigel Rowlson, The Dairy’s Managing Director, said that working on such a well-established brand across the county is a sign that the agency is continuing to move in the right direction. He added: “We entered 2019 cautiously but with the mentality that we would continue to do what we do and push hard to work with more great businesses on exciting marketing projects.”
National architecture award for uni building
A state-of-the-art building on The University of Nottingham’s University Park campus has won a national Award from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). The Teaching and Learning Building has been
recognised with the prestigious award for its significant contribution to architecture. Andy Nolan, the university’s Director of Estates
(Sustainability), said: “We are delighted that RIBA has chosen to recognise our commitment to great design and our continued investment in delivering a great experience for our students. “We’ve had fantastic feedback from the users of the
building in its first year of use and we know the space is already loved by those who use it.” The Teaching and Learning Building is among 54
stunning architectural gems from across the UK to have received 2019 RIBA National Awards including the restoration of Battersea Arts Centre, London Bridge Station, the Macallan Distillery and Visitor Experience in Moray and The Weston at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Features of the building, which opened in late 2018,
include a number of teaching rooms and classrooms, multiple individual and group study spaces and a computer lab. Other features include a 306-seat lecture theatre with triple projection and a learning lab, both with Windows Surface Hubs.
The Teaching and Learning Building was put forward
for the accolade after winning a Regional Award and a Special Award for sustainability at the RIBA East Midlands 2019 awards last month. The East Midlands ceremony also saw a University of
Nottingham student, Ross Burns, be awarded one of two RIBA East Midland Student Awards for 2018, for his project The Isle of Awakening.
