Probus Club of Wimborne Who and what is Probus?
The name gives a bit of a clue – it stands for retired PROfessional and BUSinessmen, but our club embraces retired and semi-retired men from all walks of life: engineers, servicemen, civil servants – in fact anyone who held a position of responsibility during their professional life.
We meet once a month for a lunch, followed by a speaker on a whole range of subjects, and usually, in addition, arrange monthly social or fi eld visits involving wives and partners.
The Wimborne club’s members mainly come from the Wimborne, Broadstone and Corfe Mullen area; it is vibrant with many initiatives coming from our members.
In addition we receive invitations from neighbouring Probus Clubs, which afford the opportunity to broaden our activities and in so doing visit various venues and make new acquaintances.
We will always welcome new members who would enjoy the camaraderie that belonging to this organisation brings.
