It has been a busy summer term at Corfe Hills School, with our Year 11 and Year 13 students taking their GCSEs and A-Levels. We wish them a well deserved summer break for all their hard work.

Outside of the exam room, the students have been involved in a number of evenings showcasing their talents. Our Design and Tech Showcase in May, A-Level Art students showing their artwork and photography at the exhibition in June and the GCSE Art students showcasing their work.

In July we have our summer concert, which is a wonderful evening for our musicians and it is always a pleasure to welcome students currently at local fi rst and middle schools to these events.

Our drama students have enjoyed a trip to see Richard III at The Bristol Old Vic; our Year 10s have had an inspiring chocolate workshop and demonstration from Chef John Barrow from Bournemouth and Poole College; and all of our Year 9, 10 and 12 students have taken part in The Sandwalk sponsored day and Sports Day. The PE department has also started a windsailing club!

The Inspiring Careers Programme for the Sixth

Form and Year 11 students gave them the opportunity of listening to lectures throughout the term from Jimmy’s Iced Coffee Business to a talk about Careers in Law from Steele Raymond.

We have welcomed Year 8 students to attend transition days ahead of starting Year 9 in September and enjoyed seeing our Year 11s and 13s celebrate at their Proms.

This is just a small snippet of the opportunities, activities and trips from this term.
