Peddimore site could generate 6,500 jobs

The Belfry is reportedly in contention to host the Ryder Cup for a fifth time. The historic course – which staged golf’s


premier team competition in 1985, 1989, 1993 and 2002 – is said to be on the ‘long list’ of potential venues for the 2026 event. The competition will be held at Whistling


Straits in Wisconsin next year with the Marco Simone Golf Club near Rome the venue in 2022 and New York course Bethpage Black in 2024.

an insight into the Minworth site, which could create up to 6,500 jobs and attract leading manufacturing and logistics firms. David Smith, planning director at IM


Properties who are seeking planning permission to deliver 66.5 hectares of employment space and infrastructure, outlined proposals for the site and the range of business opportunities arising from the development. Chamber committee members were also


given an overview of the social value commitments, including the Peddimore Community Fund which will provide grants to local community projects. David Smith said: “Our vision for Peddimore is


to create a high-quality development that attracts leading national and international manufacturing and logistics businesses, delivers a best-in-class employment location and an economic asset that Royal Sutton Coldfield and Birmingham can be proud of.”

Quantity surveyors relocate after member’s tip-off


A fast-growing firm of chartered quantity surveyors has relocated to Sutton Coldfield. Felton Consult have moved into new premises in Wrens Court, having


previously been based in Aldridge. The offices are owned by Blackstar Wealth Management and Felton


found the premises through fellow Sutton Chamber members Burley Browne. John Beggan, managing director at Felton, said: “We’ve wanted to be


based out of Sutton Coldfield for a while and it was just about finding the right location for the team and business to expand. “We have been warmly welcomed by local businesses and look forward


to supporting the community even further.” Furniture for the fully-refurbished offices was supplied by Clive Pool of
