our friends and colleagues in the local business community who came along to support the quiz night. It really does show how important the charity’s work is, that so many gave up their money and time. “This is the first event we have
held for the Geoff Horsfield Foundation since it became our charity of the year, and we’ll be having many more so we can raise as much money as possible for them to carry on their important work.”
Beeline to sponsor homeless charity
Promotional products firm Beeline is sponsoring homeless charity St Basils during 2019. St Basils works with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at

service, its vast product range creating a unique “one-stop-shop” offer to its business customers. Along with Smith Cooper, some 13 separate
advisers and funders worked on this structurally- complex deal, many based in the Midlands. Smith Cooper head of corporate finance
John Farnsworth said: “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to work with the founding shareholders in securing the continued success of this truly unique business – it leads the field in this expanding, friendly segment of the leisure market”. Looking to the future, despite uncertainties
in the global economic-political landscape, including Brexit, Smith Cooper is seeing no shortage of opportunities. The pipeline for 2019/20 is exceptionally strong – as a consequence, the team is looking to expand and, for the first time, is recruiting graduate accounting trainees into the corporate finance division.
