SUPPORT GROUP HAS THE RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

It’s been described as ‘invaluable’ and ‘fantastic’ in providing free support for the food and drink sector so it’s hardly surprising that the introduction of a small membership fee isn’t stopping producers, eateries and stockists from joining one of the county’s most successful networking groups. Made In Northamptonshire (MIN) was set up in 2011 by Rachel Mallows MBE

of The Mallows Company to bring like-minded businesses together to help promote quality on the doorstep and to forge new working partnerships. Its quarterly meetings are regularly attended by around 50 members,

gaining expertise from guest speakers, accessing sector news, grant and event information and, perhaps most importantly, the chance to share best practice. It also produces a directory which promotes over 100 tasty treats – and

where to buy them – to the county’s foodies. The new £50 membership will enable MIN to extend its offering, including

establishing an online shop, and the response to it has so far been very positive. Rachel said: “One member has told us that MIN has given them the

opportunity to meet buyers face-to-face and build a number of long-term trade relationships, while being in the directory and attending food and drink festivals that MIN promotes means they’ve reached a much wider customer base. “In short, they say it’s played a key role in their growth and they and many others are telling us that the membership will be worth every penny.”

most grateful to my colleagues and the staff at Lamb &

milestone. “Over the years I have seen

many changes, not only in personnel in my firm and in other local solicitors, but also in the nature of legal practice. Advances

in technology and means of communication have led to a tendency of a more remote solicitor/client relationship. “However, at Lamb & Holmes we

strive to maintain that personal service to our clients that is expected of a traditional country solicitors’ practice.”
