IN THE SPOTLIGHT
An established independent publisher now delivers to over 48,000 homes and businesses a month and has taken on a new publication. Local Traders Publications Ltd
was launched 12 years ago and produces five A5 business directories in the NN postcode as well as helping businesses with logo and web design and leaflet distribution. At the end of last year
it took on another publication called Northampton Local which is a bi-monthly community magazine that is designed to allow businesses in the area to market themselves cost-effectively. Local Traders Publications

Ltd director Jeff Smith said: “We work with a wide variety of companies from sole traders up to the large firms – as long as they have a base which operates in the NN postcode. “As a result of taking over Northampton Local we now deliver
grown over the years because we provide our clients with a high- quality service. “Our local advertising is
affordable, with the biggest distribution in Northampton, and helps local businesses to generate leads and grow. We’ve also broken
the directories into five areas so that customers can choose to advertise in all five areas or just target the areas they are interested in. This in turn makes our service very cost effective for clients.”

GIVE YOUR MARKETING A FOCUS
Marketing and design agency Bluestep Solutions was commissioned to create last year’s official Virgin London Marathon video for the NSPCC and whilst the charity experienced great ROI, the project highlighted how brilliant video is as a marketing vehicle
for a whole range of businesses, not just charities. A recent survey found that 63% of businesses are now using
video as part of their marketing strategy and that’s because it has proven success in boosting conversion and sales. Websites with
video are 50 times more likely to be ranked on Google’s first page. Bluestep Solutions account manager Liv Smith said: “We’re living in
an ever-increasingly visual world and video is an eye-catching way of grabbing your audience’s attention and showing off your business. “The NSPCC wanted to encapsulate the range of race-day emotions; from the cheers to the tears; struggle to triumph, and ultimately encourage runners to take on the marathon to fundraise for the NSPCC. Video helped to achieve this by truly reflecting the atmosphere of the day.”

EXPANDING PUBLISHER IS DELIVERING THE GOODS
FROM TEACHER TO QUEEN BEE
A digital marketing expert has launched her business full-time after a busy first year trading. Former teacher, Sneha
Verma (pictured), started up QueenBee Inc last year and was initially offering her digital marketing expertise to businesses on a part-time basis. However, the demand for
her services led to her saying goodbye to teaching at Christmas so she could concentrate solely on her growing business. Sneha said: “I’m a mum of
three girls and when my youngest started school I decided I wanted to leave behind my part-time teaching position to restart my career fully so I can give my children a better lifestyle. “I began doing some digital
marketing for a firm and the feedback I got was fantastic. I did some research and courses and launched my own business offering other firms assistance with managing their digital marketing and I absolutely love it. “I’ve done lots of work with
service-based industries, including gyms, hair salons, massage parlours, coffee shops and restaurants but I’m happy to work with firms from a wide range of sectors.” QueenBee Inc offers a free 15-minute discovery call to prospective clients and a week’s free trial, not including advertising spend.
