IN THE SPOTLIGHT: EXHIBITIONS & CONFERENCING HOTEL’S NETWORKING IS ON THE DOT
The Holiday Inn Express Kettering is happy to announce the successful launch of its own networking event, The Polka Dot Express Evening Networking Group. The group was set up by Allen
Tew, of Holiday Inn Express Kettering, and Kerry Bate, of Polka Dot Events Management Ltd, as an alternative for those who are too busy to get out of the office during the day. The group had a successful pre-
launch back in December as a way to speak to the business community and get feedback on what people would want to get out of networking in the evening. Allen said:
“The idea for the group came about during a meeting with myself and Kerry. “We both mentioned

NETWORKERS WE THOUGHT A
MONTHLY EVENING EVENT WOULD
GIVE PEOPLE THAT ADDITIONAL OPTION’
how difficult it can be to network if you have a busy period at work. As keen networkers ourselves we thought a monthly evening event would give people that additional option.”
Co-founder, Kerry added: “We listened to all feedback and we had
our official launch at the end of January. Whilst it is a small group right now, it is our hope that the group grows throughout 2019. This is a group set up to work for the

business community and not the other way around.” The event is currently planned
for the last Thursday of every month, although certain months may vary. They will be held at the Holiday Inn Express Kettering. There is no commitment although
they do ask for a £5 charge on arrival, payable by cash to cover all refreshments.

Kettering Park Hotel & Spa has been named Best Hotel in a competition organised by Northampton Life magazine. The award was open to a public vote and Kettering Park emerged
the clear winner. General manager Andrew Hollett said: “This is great news for our
team – we were up against some tough competition. We have been working hard to refine the hotel in recent years, with investment in our spa and bedrooms and development of our food and drink menus. “All the great things about Northamptonshire have been at the heart
of that – from artwork on the walls through to celebrating local produce through initiatives like our pork pie trolley. “We love the hotel and it’s lovely to see the public does too!” Kettering Park has 14 meeting and conference rooms for formal
gatherings as well as creative spaces set up with bean bags for those lighter moments, along with giant Jenga and other games to break up the day. In addition visitors can take advantage of its conference café serving up nourishing brain food as well as a few naughty snacks and have access to a meetings co-ordinator to help with any issues. Andrew added: “There’s no such thing as a ‘typical’ corporate package
at Kettering Park Hotel & Spa. With a convenient location and excellent facilities, we will help plan a package to suit your needs and budget.”
