APPOINTMENTS IN BRIEF

Sam Bradbury Chan Kataria, Chief Executive, emh group (centre) with colleagues and the new apprentices

Latest batch of apprentices join award-winning emh group

Coalville-based social housing and care provider emh group has welcomed the latest intake of 14 new apprentices to its award- winning academy. Aged between 16 and 32, the

new recruits demonstrate that apprenticeships are not just an alternative to university, but are also available for people looking to

switch to a more fulfilling career. The emh group academy was

established in 2012 as a social enterprise to provide education, training, skills and future job opportunities for local young people. Since then it has won many awards, and emh group has twice been included in the City & Guilds’ Top 100 Apprentice employers list.

Chan Kataria, emh group Chief

Executive, said: “To support our ambition to improve opportunities for people, we aim to have delivered 250 apprenticeships and traineeships by 2023. We recognise that the workforce of tomorrow depends on us investing in talent today, and the academy is a key part of our commitment.”

Building society welcomes new Chief Executive

Hinckley & Rugby Building Society has welcomed its new Chief Executive, Colin Fyfe, to his role. Previously Chief Executive at Darlington Building Society, Colin succeeds Chris White who is retiring after 30 years at Hinckley & Rugby. Colin, the ninth Chief Executive in Hinckley & Rugby’s

153 years, said the society will continue to evolve its mortgage lending and savings products to serve new and existing customers in its home counties and nationwide. He said: “We will offer different types of mortgages

and services that will put more members of the community onto the housing ladder and enable them to save for a purpose. Leicestershire and Warwickshire is our home patch but we are a national business that can reinvest in our heartlands, in employment, in our suppliers and in our communities.” Colin praised the long and fruitful service of his

predecessor: “I applaud Chris White’s fundamental contribution to the society being in such good health after a tumultuous period for financial services. He’s done a fantastic job of navigating the society to this point. “Now we are moving into the next stage of the

evolution. It’s about taking the society forward, to provide the right services for our local and national customer base. The Hinckley & Rugby board is ambitious and forward looking and that’s what appealed to me. “Our mutuality provides us with a deep connection to

our members – our savers and our borrowers – and our branch network means we meet them daily face to face. We can listen to them, understand and, thanks to being a mutual, deliver what they want.”
