Susan invited to discuss small business initiatives
Founder and CEO of Nottingham digital marketing agency Hallam Internet, Susan Hallam MBE, was invited to meet with special adviser to the Prime Minister Jimmy McLoughlin recently to discuss Government initiatives to support small business. Susan was part of a small
delegation of Enterprise Nation business leaders invited to discuss the challenge: “What would you do if you were Prime Minister for a day to support enterprise?” Susan shared her prime
ministerial vision of doubling Nottingham’s gross value add (GVA) from £21K per person to get closer to London’s GVA of £46K. Creative businesses will play a
key part in delivering this vision. These businesses have the greatest propensity for growth and the highest likelihood to export their services. Susan said: “I’m honoured to
have been invited to discuss with special adviser Jimmy McLoughlin. Having founded and grown my own company in Nottingham, I have seen first- hand the skills, resources and potential this city has for business growth. “I strongly believe that
Nottingham would be the best place to start a regional development plan that could be replicated nationally.”
College opens expanded premises in Mansfield
ITS College has opened a new, larger centre in Mansfield with the support of local Cllr Mick Barton, Deputy Mayor of Mansfield. The expansion ensures it continues to meet local demand for training and workforce development solutions. The new, 4,500sq ft premises
are in Chaucer House, Commercial Street, by St. Peters Retail Park. The launch event was a
success, attracting guests from local schools, businesses, public authorities and referral partners. Guests enjoyed a tour of the new facility and presentations from current learners and ITS Group senior management. The launch comes exactly one year after the opening of its original Mansfield centre on Nottingham Road. Dr. Chris Payne, CEO, said:
“The opening of our new centre in Mansfield was a great success. It was fantastic to see local referral partners, employers and the Deputy Mayor, Mick Barton. Most importantly our learners stole the show with their heart- felt life stories.”

‘To win this award is a great honour and is very special for me’
For the Innovation
Entrepreneur of the Year category the judges were looking for tenacious and analytical innovators, who are creative and problem solvers by nature, with a real drive to improve their sectors and challenge the status quo. Dr Kotecha said: “I was truly humbled to be nominated for this award alongside so many amazing entrepreneurs, who are using innovation and a pioneering approach to do great things. “To win this award is a great
honour and is very special for me, as Morningside has been built

greater choice for both pharmacists and patients. “We were also immensely
proud to be the first company to launch the generic version of the contraceptive pill in the UK. “I would like to thank my team,
who are all dedicated individuals and the driving force behind Morningside’s significant growth.” Morningside Pharmaceuticals
