Les écoliers visitent la France

J

unior pupils from Years 3 to 6 visited France in March to

improve their spoken French, experience French culture and develop independence.

They enjoyed an action-packed four days that included:

(1) A workshop on the different techniques used to make chocolate, including enroblement, couverture and rotation. They also had a go at piping their own designs on blocks of chocolate.

(2) Visiting a snail farm … did you know snails have 13,000 teeth on their tongue and their spiral is (almost) always clockwise?

(3) Touring the museum of Azincourt.

(4) Eating baguettes in the historic town of Boulogne.

(5) Having French lessons in Montreuil-sur-Mer.

Junior School Head, Edward Rossiter (pictured eating l’escargot) said: “Pupils made outstanding progress in their language competence and by the end of the visit were confidently conversing with each other in French.”
