THE SIBFORDIAN 2018
position became available for a Maths Teacher. The school has an amazing atmosphere, clearly created in part by the wonderful mutual respect between all individuals. I have two young children of my own who keep my diary full, but when I can I like to get outside for a run or a swim and I am always looking for some sort of crafty activity to try out.

Business This is not the first time I’ve worked at Sibford … many, many years ago I used to work as
a dinner lady here during my university holidays! I’ve lived and worked in Hong Kong and Germany and now live in Hook Norton. Sibford School is set in such beautiful surroundings and I love the calmness and respectful inclusiveness of everybody. I have a beautiful, wonderful, little girl and when I’m not working we get up to as many adventures as possible ranging from creating secret gardens, making dens, going to the seaside and taking her on big adventures to Asia.

difficulties. I still carry out this role part-time whilst teaching Horticulture City & Guilds at Sibford School. My passion for gardening, community work and creativity led me to get involved in Banbury Community Action Group (CAG). I project lead Bridge St Community Garden which is now in its fourth year. Being able to share my passion for horticulture and teach the pupils here at Sibford School is my ‘dream job’. The children are keen, enthusiastic and truly are a pleasure to teach. I find the staff team very supportive, optimistic and the school environment is just lovely. When I’m not at work I enjoy keeping my own allotment, walking the dogs, making art and planning the next surf adventure.
We have also welcomed back Gill Newbold, who returned to the Sibford staff team as a part-time Swimming teacher; Adam Hosler, part-time Maths teacher; Iona Cornett, part-time PE teacher and Sue Sabin, part- time Dyslexia teacher. Rachel Thompson joined us as maternity cover in our Textiles Department (congratulations go to Emma Sutcliffe on the birth of baby April). In addition, Keith Baker has joined our team of minibus drivers.
