Having spent 59 months without any serious freeze, the meteorological start of Spring saw Sibford submerged in snow … for the
second time in less than 12 weeks.
The strong arctic winds sculpted some magnificent snowdrifts.
As the ‘beast from the east’ brought in arctic conditions and icy blasts, school was forced to close early on Thursday 1 March to enable day pupils to get home safely and a ‘snow day’ was declared for Friday. Staff living locally joined house parents to ensure that the boarders were well cared for.
Thankfully, a welcome thaw meant that we were up and running again as normal the following week.
