Clay County Fair

Goat Yoga? Redneck Romper Fashion Show? Giant Potato Truck? Clay County Agricultural Fair had this and more!

The Clay County Agricultural Fair had a stormy, but successful 10 day run. The 113,432

visitors at the 2018 Clay County Agricultural Fair had many new activities and shows to enjoy as well as over sixty fair favorite ride attractions provided by Deggeller Attractions. The 2018 theme was #OURFAIR, which encompassed the “it takes a village” mindset and we designed our entire marketing cam- paign around it. The theme was a perfect fit for our sponsors, fair friends, and media partners. In an effort to bring awareness to the agriculture industry we designed specialty signs with ag facts on them to cover

up some of our bare areas throughout the fair, they were a huge hit! We also hosted “Ag-Ventures” during two days of the fair and invited nine hundred elementary school students to our fair to learn about agriculture. The kids and teach- ers had a blast going through the many stations we had set up for them. The 2018 fair had its share of “out of the box” entertainment including: The Big Idaho Potato Truck, a Redneck

Romper Fashion Show, Goat Yoga and the Bubba’s Belly Contest! One of the more popular events was the goat yoga classes held on the first Friday and the last Saturday of the fair. What is this goat yoga you speak of? Goat Yoga is ex- actly as it sounds…a yoga class with goats roaming around. “The classes exceeded our expectations and it was a hoot to see people with yoga mats walking down main street!” said General Manager, Tasha Hyder. The classes attracted upwards of 400 participants during the two classes. The Redneck Romper Fashion Show also turned heads at the fair, with Dennis Lee emceeing the event, we crowned our first ever Redneck Romper Fashion King. Our 2018 entertainment highlights included: Monster Trucks, Russell Dickerson, Chris Jan-

son, Dailey & Vincent, Michah Tyler, Jeremy Camp, High Valley, Chase Rice, Rossaire’s Royal Pig Races, The Sweeney Family Band with Priscilla, Agri-Puppets, Ron Diamond Hypnosis and Magic Show, Dennis Lee, Disc-Connected K9 Frisbee Dogs, and Southern Mower Madness. New acts to the fair included: Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, Maxx Power the Robot, Prehistoric Adventures, Southern Reptile Rescue and Danny Grant Cowboy Circus. As we close the books for the 2018 fair, our hundreds of volunteers, board and staff are thank-

ful for another safe and successful fair year. We had our challenges, but came together in true family fashion to produce #OURFAIR.
