Giles Ellis Memorial Golf Tournament The 18th Annual Giles Ellis Memorial Golf Tournament took place May 16thth at the Disney Palm
Golf Course. After several weeks of rain a break in the clouds gave us a day to hack up the Disney course with over 50 golfers made up of Fair vendors, staff, entertainers and concessionaires from across the state. The Par 72 course was a challenging 7073 yards in total but the golfers turned in great scores and good fun on the greens. Contests throughout the course included Men’s Longest Drive with Danny Grant and Women’s
Long Drive-Tasha Hyder both from Team Deggeller. Closest to the Pin saw Wil Price from Central Florida Fair take top prize and Florida State Fair team took home the 1st place engraved Yeti cups this year. We ended the day with a Disney All American Buffett with over 40+ Raffle giveaways and a 50/50 Raffle. A special thanks to all the sponsors and teams that helped us raise over $5,000. The 19th Annual Giles Ellis Memorial Tournament will take place in St Augustine next year and we look forward to hosting your fair golf teams for an even bigger event.
