CHAMBER NEWS

Event bookings open for annual business festival

Bookings are now being taken from firms wanting to run events at this year’s Leicester Business Festival (LBF). Over 10,000 people attended

last year’s Festival, which was made up of over 150 events hosted in the city and across Leicestershire. With 13 sectors covering a vast

range of business subjects the festival included trade shows, seminars, workshops, recruitment fairs and awards ceremonies, staged at venues across the city and the county. Promotion of the LBF reached

over 31 million people and, in feedback, 88.5% of those who attended said the LBF had positively affected their business. The annual two-week business

festival will be taking place from Monday 29 October to Friday 9 November. It will comprise a range of events that are generally free to attend - including trade shows,

recruitment fairs, seminars and workshops, all staged by local organisations for other businesses and individuals to attend to learn, share and network. The broad and diverse range of

events will showcase what a fantastic place Leicester is to live, work and do business, as well as inspiring organisations from outside the area to invest. The LBF has been running for

three years and has grown into the region’s largest business event, with delegates from as far afield as Russia, China, USA, France, Greece and Ecuador. Leicester Castle Business School

is the business festival's Headline Partner for the next two years. The Chamber, the LLEP Business Gateway and East Midlands Airport also all signed up in 2017 for a three-year term. Scott Knowles, Chair of the

Leicester Business Festival community interest company and

Leicester Business Festival, sponsored by the Chamber, is returning in 2018

Chamber Chief Executive, said: “We have opened the event-booking portal on the website to allow plenty of time to apply to run events.

“Bookings have already started

to come in and we expect there will be many more that will quickly follow. “We are being more particular

this year about the events to ensure that we have the right quantity and quality to allow the Leicester Business Festival to continue to be successful and

achieve its strategic objectives - to support the business community in Leicester and Leicestershire and drive inward investment. “I would urge anyone who wants

to host an event to get their application in as soon as possible to make sure they are part of the region’s largest business event.”

Any organisation wishing to run an event should apply via the business festival website at: www.leicesterbusinessfestival.com /apply
