Charity receives boost from the construction industry

Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People has received a donation of £14,000 from property and construction professionals in Nottingham. The donation follows the success

of Nottingham Hot Property (NHP) 2017, a one-of-a-kind annual fundraising event attended by leading professionals in Nottingham. The event aims to showcase the best talent in the city, while raising thousands of pounds to support local youngsters. Rainbows is the East Midlands’

only hospice that provides care and support for youngsters with life- limiting conditions. It is a place where children and their families can find care and support to help relieve symptoms, improve quality of life and support parents and siblings through their bereavements. Matt Winn, Organisational Giving

Fundraiser at Rainbows, said: “The NHP event was absolutely fantastic and everyone at Rainbows has been blown away by the incredible amount raised - we are so thankful to Hot Property for nominating us as its charity of the year.

like this to continue the great work we do. Everyone at Hot Property was fantastic and dedicated so much time to making the event a success.” Sponsors of Hot Property 2017 included Chamber members Roythornes Solicitors, Cleggs Solicitors and Browne Jacobson as well as Cartwright Communications as a media partner.

One of Hot Property’s organisers,

Siobhan Goodacre, said: “It’s always amazing to see so many local professionals coming together to make a real difference, but £14,000 is a staggering amount. “We are now searching for new participants, who work in the property and construction industry, to get up on stage this year so if you would like to be involved then please get in touch.”

Sarah takes on the London Marathon

An employee at Nottingham- based charity The Ear Foundation, Sarah Hoyle, is taking on the challenge of running The London Marathon in support of the charity she works for. Training has been underway

since the end of last year, with Sarah squeezing in 7am spin classes before work, running the scenic route home and long runs at the weekend. Sarah said: “Being a runner

in the London Marathon is a strange culmination of sheer terror and exhilaration. “The team at The Ear

Foundation work so hard to support people of all ages living with a hearing loss. As a hidden disability the huge impact that hearing loss has on individuals, their families and friends is often overlooked. By taking up this challenge myself I’m hoping I can support the rest of my colleagues in shining a spotlight on the issue of hearing loss while also raising some vital funds to help our work continue.”
