PwC strengthens East Midlands leadership team
PwC in the East Midlands has strengthened its leadership team with the appointments of Matt Palmer as Assurance Director for Private Business, Alan Walsh as Assurance Director to support large businesses across a range of industries and Steve Smith as Tax Partner, who also becomes Midlands Fast Growth Leader. In addition to the appointments, Trusha Kachhela has
been promoted to Midlands Tax Leader, signalling the firm’s commitment to investing in its people and clients and nurturing and developing the next generation of business leaders in the region. Matt and Steve join from PwC’s Birmingham office,
with Alan joining from PwC London. Trusha's promotion expands her remit to lead tax matters for
the region and she will continue to be based in the East Midlands. The firm’s Castle Donington office has also welcomed
29 graduates, interns and business placements. Office Senior Partner for PwC in the East Midlands,
Paul Norbury, said: “I’m delighted to announce these appointments, demonstrating our continued commitment to strengthening our East Midlands team. Roythornes Solicitors has appointed a new Business Development Director to support the firm’s long-term strategy for growth. Lisa Cawdron joins the senior management team from national contractor Willmott Dixon. She said: “The firm’s ambition

Lisa Buckley returns to Leek with new role
Leek United Building Society has appointed a new Head of Marketing. Lisa Buckley brings to the role extensive experience within the industry. Her appointment is also
something of a ‘homecoming’ for Lisa, who was born and raised in Leek, and began her career locally with Britannia. She said: “The Society’s mutual
status attracted me greatly, and when this position came up it was too good to miss. I want to build on the already solid platform we have and look at opportunities for the Society to grow and develop further.”

Fantastic four join Leicester architects
Nottingham and Leicester-based Franklin Ellis Architects has bolstered its team with the appointment of four new specialists. The practice, which is currently working on high-profile sites including
student accommodation on Talbot Street in Nottingham and the £40m residential development on Vaughan Way, in Leicester, has appointed Mark Sheppard as a senior architectural technician, Steffan Davies as an architect, and Kate O’Brien and Gareth Studley as architectural assistants. Mark specialises in specification writing, technical detailing and building
information modelling (BIM) implementation. In his new role, Mark will be responsible for providing technical support
on projects and specification development. Steffan specialises in historic buildings and conservation and will be
responsible for projects across a number of sectors. In their new positions as architectural assistants, Kate and Gareth will be
responsible for supporting the design team with the preparation of drawings. Matthew Branton, Partner at Franklin Ellis Architects, said: “It’s brilliant to
have so much talent joining us and I’m looking forward to another busy and exciting year.”
