‘What excites me is the potential here in Chesterfield for success and apprenticeships can form a big part of that’

way to develop that, while providing a fantastic opportunity for young people to develop essential practical skills on the job.

“What excites me is the

potential here in Chesterfield for success and apprenticeships can form a big part of that. Destination Chesterfield and the D2N2 project are still on track and there is still time for this to bring in new business and investment to the region. Our apprentices have excelled over the years and UKATA would not have continued taking on apprentices if the Association was not getting something positive out of it too. “There are some talented

young people in Chesterfield who just need businesses willing to give them the opportunity to prove it.”

The Distillers Kitchen

45 Group expands The Distillers Kitchen

Leicestershire-based 45 Group, which currently comprises 45 West and 45 St Martins bars in the city centre, plus its Gin School, based in Nanpantan, near Loughborough, has announced further expansion within the Group. The addition of a new and larger Gin School, located in a prime position

in the newly-expanded and renovated Market Place, in Leicester city centre, is required due to the increasing popularity of the existing Gin School experience currently on offer. Aptly named The Distillers Kitchen, the new venue is just one hour from

London with excellent transport links from every region in the UK, making it a prime location to host unique events. The Gin School offers the opportunity to learn the art of distillation and

to create a unique and personal bottle of craft distilled gin while enjoying the company of friends or colleagues over a G&T. Also available at The Distillers Kitchen, which is now open, is a fully- equipped and separate board room for up to 20 people, which offers everything required to host a meeting in complete privacy and comfort.

Wildgoose in fire station award

Wildgoose Construction has been chosen as the principal contractor to build a new community fire station in South Derbyshire. The Derbyshire firm was

awarded the £2.9m contract for the new Swadlincote Fire Station, which will also accommodate East Midlands Ambulance Service, following a competitive tender process. Wildgoose will demolish the

existing 1950s station and training centre on Civic Way and build a two-storey community station and separate tower and smoke house in its place for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service. Jonathan Wildgoose,

Executive Chairman of Wildgoose Construction, said: “We’re proud to have been awarded this contract to build such an important community facility in South Derbyshire. “We’re now looking forward

to getting on site for the project and delivering a high quality product for the fire service and its staff which will benefit the area for years to come.”

When you are running a dynamic, growing company and you hit an unexpected legal snag, you need agile solicitors who can move as fast as you do.

Other times, your head may be focused on the excitement of pursuing success and profits but your feet could unknowingly be walking into a minefield.

He says Nottingham-based Mitchell Wilde have all the expertise, experience, flexibility and understanding to cover every legal eventuality owner-managed businesses like his may face.

“They’re a small company and that gives them a real cutting edge. My phone calls go to straight to a partner for instant action. We move fast and so do they.

“Cash flow is the lifeblood of any business and their help chasing bad payers has been essential.

“They have drawn up the business equivalent of a “pre-nup” for directors and shareholders, for a framework to minimise any possible future disputes.

“And their advice on new business contracts is invaluable – all your work can disappear because of one small legal error. They point out potential problems and help us clarify them.

“I find them welcoming, warm, agile and understanding. They are always calm and collected. We have worked together since 2012 when we had just six staff members. Now we have 20 and Mitchell Wilde are very much part of the business family.”
