The cheque presentation at Friar Lane in Nottingham Solicitors’ support for cancer centre

Fraser Brown Solicitors has raised £11,100 for Nottingham Trent University’s John van Geest Cancer Research Centre. The firm selected the centre –

which recently announced its latest breakthrough in prostate cancer research – as its charity of the year for 2017 and had aimed to raise £10,000 over the course of the 12 months, but comfortably beat that target. Patrick Wood, Managing Partner at Fraser Brown, handed

the cheque to the charity at its office on Friar Lane, in Nottingham. Patrick said: “In 2017, we

dedicated our fundraising efforts to the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre, in the hope that we could make a difference to the lives of those affected by cancer. The money that we have raised

throughout the year has contributed to the valuable research that takes place at Nottingham Trent University.

“We select a charity each year

based on a firm-wide vote and, with the support of the whole team behind the cause, we were able to take on innovative and challenging activities. I’m proud that we have been able to beat our target, and thank all who took part or donated to the cause. “I’m certain that the funds raised

will make a great difference to the work undertaken at the research centre.”

The John van Geest Cancer

Research Centre is a purpose-built scientific facility that aims to save lives and speed recovery by improving the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Stephen Knott, from the centre,

said: “The Fraser Brown team has raised an incredible amount of money. The firm committed to some amazing fundraising challenges and we can’t thank them enough for their support.”
