Mandie joins national board of principals
Derby College Group Chief Executive Mandie Stravino (pictured) has been appointed to a new national group of principals who will advise the Department for Education on a wide range of matters. FE Commissioner Richard
Atkins has brought together seven principals and chief executives from leading colleges across the UK to advise on skills policy, including the development of T-levels. The group will meet around six
times a year with Ministers and Government officials in an unpaid role.
New HR Director at Duncan & Toplis
East Midlands accountancy firm Duncan & Toplis has appointed a new HR Director to head up HR services across its entire group of companies. Heidi Thompson brings with
her more than 20 years’ experience running HR departments across the UK. She said: “I’m really pleased

Growth leads to Zycomm appointments
Derbyshire firm Zycomm Electrical has recruited two new members of staff due to growth within the company. The two new sales team
members are Julia Buxton, who brings her previous experience around sporting and events, and Tim Sunderland, who comes from the communications industry and will drive the dealer sales contract, as first point of contact for all trade customers and is focused on growing the Kenwood distribution business.

Double appointments at waste management firm
The investment in a Nottingham waste management and recycling company continues, following its acquisition by private equity firm Exponent last year, with the appointment of two new directors. Paul Walker and Wayne Cornell
join Wastecycle as Logistics Director and Recycling Director respectively. Paul will oversee the company’s
logistics and will be introducing new systems and processes to ensure Wastecycle operates its fleet of 65 vehicles at optimum efficiency, while maintaining the highest levels of customer service. Wayne joins Wastecycle following
12 years with Kal Tire, in which time he rose from Production Manager to UK Country General Manager with responsibility for the health and wellbeing of over 200 people across six business units. Managing Director Paul Needham
said: “2018 promises to be a very exciting year for our company as we look to introduce new services and enter new markets. “In order to deliver our strategy,
we need to ensure that the business has the strongest possible senior management team in place. Adding Paul and Wayne to our board of directors increases our knowledge and expertise, and I’m sure they will both play an integral part in helping Wastecycle achieve its short and longer-term goals.”

Chris joins the emh group team
East Midlands-based social housing and care provider emh group has appointed Chris Jones as Executive Director of Development. Chris has extensive experience in delivering residential
properties of all tenures in the private and public sectors. He was previously Development Director at Orbit Homes for nine years, overseeing the second-largest development programme in the social housing sector. Chris also brings a wealth of commercial knowledge in developing strategic partnerships and unlocking new business opportunities. Chris said: “emh group already has one of the largest
