Dunblane Centre NEwsletter

With the festive season now behind, us we can look forward to 2018. I have lived in Dunblane for almost 17 years and the Dunblane Centre has been part of my life here. Both in the past, when my kids were younger, and now as part of my future here as its manager, so it gives me great pleasure to be part of the team for 2018 onwards.

The trustees and staff are working together to develop a vision for a fi ve- year plan. It is vital that we keep the deep roots planted in our community, bringing generations together to feel welcome here at the Dunblane Centre. From ‘not here yet’ to 93 yrs, we cover all age groups. We are currently working with the Dementia Friendly Dunblane project to make our Centre more compatible for our members living with dementia. We also provide a senior citizens lunch and an opportunity to catch up with friends every month. We have pre-school and primary school gymnastics classes, yoga bellies for pregnant mums to be, and many diff erent fi tness classes every day. Our performing arts programme goes from strength to strength with the acclaimed Les Mis performance setting an even higher standard last year. Our young people attend youth club and Friday Night Project every week, and with this being the Year of Young People, we will be extending our services in that age group.

Our events calendar is full and running over with a variety of programmes and events to please everyone. My hope and aspiration for 2018 is that we continue to build on the activities going on, adding variety, bringing in new members of our community. We extend a warm welcome, especially to those who have not been in to see us before, to drop in and have a chat over a cuppa in our cafe. Let me know what you think about the Dunblane Centre, what we can build on and what you think matters, it shapes who we are and what we do.

I look forward to seeing you.
