Popa Chubby plays guitar, bass, and drums, with Keyes applying his signature vibrant tex- ture to the song on organ. Popa Chubby undoubtedly hit the
bullseye as far as this album is concerned. Two Dogs is hands down one of the best blues-rock albums released this year.

Jordan Middleton & The Low End (Jordan Middleton Music) Jordan Middleton
gets his musical talent honestly. His Dad, Joe Middleton, has been writing songs and per-
forming for years with both Seaboard and Idlewild South, a band that regular readers of Kudzoo will be familiar with. (We reviewed their CD a few years back and had Joe on our radio show.) With his first EP, Jordan delivers five
acoustic-based songs filled with honesty, emotion and passion. Not to mention nice hooks and memorable melody lines. Begin- ning with “All Signs (Point to This),” Middle- ton sets the stage for an excellent EP that showcases his outstanding songwriting. It pulls you right in. “Mustang Road” is another great story
song with tasty slide guitar laid on top of his acoustic rhythm. I tried to draw a straight comparison to another artist, but Jordan is unlike anyone else. There are hints of Tom Petty, Gregg Allman, Steve Earle and others, but Middleton remains his own individual artist. The more you listen to him the more you know that he is destined for stardom. It’s that simple. My personal favorite cut is “Diamond
Ring.” I love everything from the bass line to the melody line. Of course, Jordan’s strongest talent is his lyric writing, and this love song is a fine example of that ability. This song is destined to be a hit among the Americana au- diences. I can’t express just how much I love this tune. “Run” is a straight up rocker, the first
track to utilize a drum kit rather than congas or bongos. It reminds me of a cross between Springsteen and Tom Petty. Another very im- pressive track worthy or radio play. The set closes with “One More Love Song,” a song about the lure of the road to a musician, and his promise to play his love “one more love song” before he goes, and swears he will keep her in his heart and mind until he returns. Any of us who have been working and travel- ing musicians with loved ones back homecan fully identify. I highly recommend this EP to anyone
who loves good music with well written and performed songs with compelling lyrics. We will be keeping an eye out for Jordan Middle- ton. If the right person hears this, he will be shooting for the stars in no time.
