FLORIDA ROCKS SOUTHERN STYLE FOR THE HALL OF FAME FULL MOON FESTIVAL

around Middleburg, Florida as “the mayor,” first contacted me and offered to make our Southern Rock Hall of Fame project this year’s beneficiary of the annual Full Moon Music Fes- tival, you could have knocked me over with a feather. I couldn’t believe his kind offer. But working in concert with American Legion Post 250, Keith set the wheels in motion. Even though he had said that last year’s festival would be his last – after all, putting a show this size together even once will beat a man down like he stole something- he expressed a true be- lief in our idea for a museum to pay tribute to all the bands we grew up loving, from the All- man Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd, to Marshall

Tucker, 38 Special and all the others. So, on the 40th anniversary of what
many of us consider the most tragic even in Southern Rock history, the Lynyrd Skynyrd air- plane crash, we all began to assemble at the Le- gion Post for the Friday night “pre-concert” get together. Danielle Eskew was grilling steaks, and a lot of us met in person for the first time over red meat and beers. I myself met many folk I had known only from Facebook, includ- ing Keith Hall, the first guy I ran into out of the car. My traveling buddy Scott Greene drove us down, along with old friend Tim Shook, and we were ready for a high old time. Now this is where I can really get myself
