now! It was also great meeting J.R. Roberts,
singer in the band Mojo Roux with Swindle. There were many other friends I got to see Fri- day night, and One Hot Mess rocked the lodge that night. We had to drive “a good little ways” back to the hotel and rest up for Saturday, so we said bye to several friends and took off to the hotel. Saturday, we arrived early, and watched

called. The old memory ain’t what it used to be. One of the first I finally met after many years as online amigos was John Eastwood. John heads up the biggest Skynyrd fan page on Facebook, and has been pivotal in helping raise awareness and donations for the Hall of Fame. I truly en- joyed meeting Mike Owings, guitarist for Tryal by Fire (who played a red-hot set Saturday!) and during our conversation, I found out he had played with my dear friend Tom Coerver in the band China Sky with Molly Hatchet’s Bobby Ingram. Small world, huh? So, I called Tom on my cell to tell him I was there with Mike, and let them say howdy. It was cool. I met Roger Dale Snyder, a great guy who has supported the Southern Rock Hall of Fame, as well as Ricky Watkins whom I also knew of from Facebook, and Bruce Beasley, a former drummer for Janis Joplin Bruce bought the huge stage banner and asked all the musicians to sign it and donated it to the Hall of Fame. Thanks again brother. (And thanks again to Co- conut Harley for helping me dismount the ban- ner from the stage and roll it up Saturday night! Harley grabbed a hammer and got ‘er done!) Later in the evening I met Phil Swindle,
whose new CD I glowingly reviewed in KUD- ZOO. It’s that good. It’s got a “who’s who” of Florida Southern rockers backing him up! Get it

as the guys were setting up for the first band. Somewhere around lunch time, the guys from the CHT'Z and Giggles cooking team hooked me up with a barbeque sandwich, beans, the works. I don’t know why but I was the first to be served. One of the cooks was insistent that I try his green beans, and from there it was on. Mighty good! Next thing I knew I had a lunch plate. Boy howdy was it good! Keith Hall took the stage to say a few
words, and introduced Harley Lamoureaux who
