The ISPE Filtration Workshop will take place next month at Plastipack’s premises in St. Leonards- on-Sea, near Hastings, East Sussex by kind permission of Peter Adlington, MISPE. This popular workshop, on Tuesday November 7th will be run by Chris Carr, FISPE and Phil Barlow, MISPE. It offers a full day’s instruction on all aspects of sizing, servicing and maintaining different types of fi lter and is an excellent day’s training for those new to the trade or even some of the more experienced fi tters. There are a number of classroom-style presentations but delegates are able to get ‘hands-on’ too, under close supervision, working on both a fi lter and pump strip-down and re-build and making pipework sets. Towards the end of the day there is a short multiple-choice questionnaire.

2017 and the organisation now has about 60 individuals registered. The scheme is open to everyone, ISPE and/or SPATA members, non-members of either organisation, UK and overseas, and is free to join, until July 2018. On completing the registration form (available at ISPE events, by email from ross@
ispe.co.uk, or the ISPE website -

co.uk) participants receive a free CPD folder and CPD Training Activity Log on which to formally record their training.
A number of companies in the UK pool and spa trade have started to offer free half or full day training giving four or eight CPD points to delegates, and these include, Certikin International, The Pollet Pool Group and Complete Pool Controls.
There are more training sessions being planned for the Autumn and Winter and details will be on the ISPE website and the SPATA Industry Diary. More and more companies are expected to participate as time goes on, giving those on the scheme a great choice of subjects and venues and lots of opportunities to keep their knowledge up-to-date.
There are at least 14 completely new subjects
for 2018, together with some new presenters too, as more and more companies see the value of participating in the ISPE workshop programme - a win-win-win situation for visitors, presenters and exhibitors.
