HELP Charity Celebrating 25 years this year, they were happy to purchase a new adjustable examination bed, (pictured) much needed at the Parcent Medical Centre and as the Parcent Doctor, Dr. Juan Bisquert Soler was retiring, after 27 years, it was decided to dedicate it in his name, for his professional services to the village from 1990 to 2017.
The Royal British Legion - District North Spain have announced some changes in their District North Committee line-up. The new District President is Mr Nigel Hamilton-Hails who was previously Vice Chairman. Nigel has now taken over from Lloyd Milen who stood down from the role following a promotion to Consul General in Barcelona. There will be challenges, but I am looking forward to working to promote the Charity within our District." The new Vice Chairman is Lt Col Pete Lodge MBE. Pete served a 39 year career in the Parachute Regiment. He is no stranger to the Legion having previously undertaken the role of District Vice President. Pete said it was an honour to be considered for the position; he is proud of what the Legion stands for and achieves and he is looking forward to working closely with members of the Committee and supporting our many branches.
The District has 19 Branches and all arrange varied social events, as well as raising money for the Poppy Appeal and supporting our beneficiaries. New members are always welcome and you do not need to have an Armed Forces background to enjoy all the Branch has to offer.

U3A Marina Baixa
U3A Marina Baixa holds its general meetings on the fourth Monday of each month in the auditorium at the Casa de Cultura, Alfaz del Pi. The next meeting is on Monday the 25th September. The doors open at 10am and the desks close at 10.50am for a prompt 11am start, please come early to sign in and get your seat!

The Costa Blanca Anglican Chaplaincy Albir
A service of Holy Communion is held in Albir every Sunday at 9.45am. You can find us in the centre of Albir, turn up the main road hill, Camino de la Cantera, (quite near the Consum Supermarket), signposted Rober Palas Hotel, turn right in front of the hotel and the Church (Norwegian Seaman’s Church) is just inside the next left turn, Carrer Mart.
Also every Thursday at 11am at the Forum Mare Nostrum, Alfaz del Pi we have a service of Holy Communion. The second Thursday of each month is a healing service. There are various functions arranged throughout the year and without exception these are always good fun and fellowship.
