FF - Your community magazine Anglo Spanish Association

Recently members and guests of the Anglo-Spanish Association met at the Parador in Jávea. The guest speaker was Marc Meyer. Originally from Antwerp in Belgium, Marc Meyer is a Jávea-based artist who paints in the style of Joaquin Sorolla.

Marc gave us a fascinating talk on the life and work of Sorolla, and especially of the time Sorolla spent in Jávea, where he found the diffusion of the light particularly conducive to his style of painting.

Following Marc's talk and questions from the audience, we de-camped to the nearby restaurant

"Amarre 152" where we enjoyed an excellent dinner.

The Anglo-Spanish Association meets bi-monthly throughout the year, usually for talks on subjects of local interest followed by dinner at a Jávea restaurant.

New members are always welcomed. For more information, please see our webpage: www.anglospanish.org.
