Going Out - Page 54 Scrabble Club

Anyone for tennis? At the June meeting of the Almoradi Scrabble Club, members were challenged to come up with words relating to "tennis".

Words such as VIE, DRAWS, WIN, TOGS, LINE and a couple of tenuous ones including MOW were laid. However it was Sandra's word "WINNER" that scored the highest - winning her a bottle of wine in return. Karen had the highest score of the afternoon with 405.

Next meeting 25th July. The next meeting will be on Tuesday 25th July at Cafe Almoradi (Calle Major 91 - opposite the health centre). Meeting at 3pm to start at 3.30pm.

There will be a raffle in order to raise funds for new boards, as numbers are growing steadily. If you can rearrange the following letters, you may well be good at playing scrabble, and enjoy being part of the group - RANTHEE For further information please contact Christine on 694 437 698.

After an early start with a few hours spent in Teruel on the way to Pamplona the trip progressed to San Sebastián with its famous beaches, architecture and spectacular food. The next stop was Bilbao known for its Basque history and language which originated from different groups in the central Pyrenees. Following this the next stop was the amazing vista of Picos de Europa and Burgos known for its famous Cathedral, the jewel of Spanish Cathedrals. Returning via Toledo to enjoy more culture and breathtaking scenery, tired but enthralled.

The photo was taken outside the prestigious Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao.

restaurant for a prebooked lunch. They took the beautiful scenic route around the amazing lake La Pedrera which created lots of conversation about its colour of brilliant blue and once they arrived at the restaurant they were seated outside in the large gardens taking the glorious sunshine of 30º in a comfortable shaded area to enjoy the meal and an amazing colourful flamenco dance show. Meanwhile their very much loved and highly polished jaguar cars were all sparkling in the late afternoon sun while their very proud owners discussed them. They are all looking forward to their next up and coming meeting as a good time was had by all of the JEC members who attended. If you are interested in joining us with your jaguar, please email mikebikejec@gmail.com.

We meet at the tennis club on Wednesdays from 9.30am to 11am. The cost is between 3€ and 4€ depending on numbers attending and this includes all equipment, including rackets. It is a special discount for U3A.
