Alternative PIZZA BASES


From naan bread to potato we have the perfect alternative pizza bases to try this summer

sometimes we are all in need of a quick fix. Alternative pizza doughs offer a range of benefits, from helping you to pack in your five-a-day to aiding the midweek


madness of school-night suppers. Why not try one of our 5 alternative pizzas that take inspiration not only from Italy but from across the Mediterranean.


PITTA PIZZAS


Pitta breads make wonderful pizza bases that can be loaded with toppings before being baked until golden.


4 white pitta breads 4 tbsp tomato purée 4 chestnut mushrooms, sliced 2 tbsp jarred artichokes in olive oil


1 tbsp pine nuts Half tsp dried oregano Drizzle of olive oil


1 Preheat the oven to 220C/gas 7. Arrange the pitta breads on a baking tray and spread one side with the tomato purée. 2 Press the mushrooms onto the tomato purée. Shake off any excess oil from the artichokes and roughly slice them, then lay them onto the pittas.


3 Scatter over the pine nuts and oregano, then drizzle with oil. Bake for 10 mins until the base is golden.
