MS VESTERÅLEN

MS Vesterålen is named after the first Hurtigruten ship to sail the rugged Norwegian coastline back in 1893. She is one of our smaller vessels and has a charming intimate atmosphere. The boat’s bright, cheerful public areas and lounges enhance the informal on-board ambi- ence. Enjoy spectacular views from the panorama lounge, or peruse the extensive on-board art collection. MS Vesterålen sailings also offer what we call the ‘herit- age experience’, featuring a ‘behind the scenes’ look at various aspects of the ship’s operation. During the presentations, held every second day, the tour leader includes interviews with different crewmembers that share insights about life aboard the ship. We also offer practical courses within such relevant maritime topics as navigation (map and compass) and sailor knots. You can also learn about the diverse historical ‘points of interest’ we pass dur- ing the journey. With a limited passenger capacity, this voyage on MS Vesterålen is truly something special.
