––– Wake up early to see Hornelen (860 metres above sea level) and the landscape of Nordf ord. As we sail past the West Cape, we cross the open sea for the fi rst time during the voyage.
The ship navigates through skerries and islands before reaching the Art Nouveau town of Ålesund. In summer, we sail towards what is often considered to be Norway’s jewel in the crown, Geiranger fjord, surrounded by majes- tic mountain peaks, steep cliff s and cascading waterfalls. In autumn, we explore the idyllic Hjørundfjord - only Hurtigruten sails into this gem of a fjord.
