Big birds The white-tailed eagle is a very large bird, and measures up to 90 cm in length and up to 2.5 m in wingspan. The wingspan is on average the largest of any eagle. Close encounters between man and eagle are not uncommon as we sail through the birds' natural habitat. If you see one during your voyage (or if you join the sea eagle safari in Lofoten on day 9), you'll realise just how big a bird this is.
