There are other things you can do for yourself alongside counselling which can help you to feel and think about yourself more positively.
Strategies of self-care can help to reduce the impacts of abuse, increase well being and help you to value and cherish yourself. Self-care is important in reconnecting with your core ‘sense of self’.
Self care is very individual. Different things work for different people. If you’re unsure about what will work for you, perhaps try a variety of things until you discover what suits you.
