THE Brownies have successfully completed their Cooks and Disability Badges. We have learnt a lot as well as having loads of fun.
Johnny from Dementia Support came along to help the girls become “Dementia Friendly” and they were able to
suggest to him their ideas of how they can help. We
enjoyed pancakes with
a variety of fillings and also prepared a breakfast for part of the cook`s badge. The Brownies squeezed oranges and made toast with a choice of toppings. For Mothering Sunday the
girls filled jars with bath salts which they coloured and scented themselves. They looked really pretty with layered colours and material tops. The Brownies made flower pictures using various sized bun cases and jewels to be exhibited in the Steeple End Gallery in April to commemorate the bi- centenary of the Hooker family as Kew Garden directors. At our last meeting we held a Promise Ceremony and the Brownies made Easter Bonnets out of chocolate tea cakes, biscuits, icing and flower decorations.

SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH OF REGULAR WENHASTON MARKET 2017
IF you drove past Wenhaston Village Hall on the last Saturday of the month between 10am and 12.30pm, you will have been amazed at the packed car park. And you will have missed a treat! Inside were 25 stalls selling all manner of produce, crafts and bric-a-brac. You could have purchased all the ingredients for your evening meal, starting with olives or smoked
pate from Smokehouse and Suffolk home-made
bread from Cheryl. Main course free range meats from Philip at
the door, with veg. grown by Fred. (“My Secret Kitchen” from Bungay provided spices for your sauces.) Fruit pies from Cheryl for dessert, followed by goats’ cheese from Larry and Karen.
Exhausted from all this shopping, in need of caffeine and sugar hit? Take a break in our café for cafetiere coffee or tea and delicious cakes made by our local cooks.
Refreshed and invigorated you could then have wandered around all the other stalls packed
with home-made goods and crafts ranging from toiletries to cushions, bags, cards, pottery, jewellery and many more. Wenhaston is raising money for maintenance of our lovely Village Hall and supporting local small businesses and traders.
