It's probably something you don't wish to think about too often, but it is likely you are sharing your bed with up to 20,000 unwanted house guests every night.
Because of the warmth and moisture content your duvet is the perfect habitat for dust
mites, bed bugs and their bacteria and fungal spores they leave behind which creates a serious need for regular duvet cleaning.
Allergens produced by dust mites are often the cause of allergic
reactions and in some people can trigger asthma attacks or other repository ailments. Experts now recommend that your duvets are cleaned at least every
6 months, by having them cleaned at Clean 'n' Dry you will ensure that highly effective sterilisation and removal of allergens occurs and that
in addition, duvets are refreshed and revived.
Can you afford to leave it any longer? Get your duvets cleaned today Tel: 01986 894598

SPRING at last! (almost) and the days are getting longer...... though not neccessarily warmer. Nevertheless, the snowdrops are out on the canal and the daffodils are not far behind. Which leads us to plans for activities on the waterway this summer. The Environment Agency say
they plan to do some weed and silt clearance this year, but as yet we have no firm dates so we will have to press on with our own efforts. All this and more will be outlined at our first Annual General Meeting to be held upstairs at: Halesworth Library at 11am on Tuesday 11th April. Please come along if you can.
Topics will include: Review of our first year’s activities; Financial report; Plans for the future. There will ample time for questions and suggestions (and coffee).

Halesworth New Reach HOUSING
Halesworth Town Council Developments -
Notification has been received of yet another planning application for a new housing development in Halesworth, this time for 22 houses on Norwich Road to the north of Fairview Road. It is unlikely that all these planning applications will succeed and they could well be much modified as they go through the planning process. To ensure that you are kept up
to date on planning applications, register with the Town Council’s website and be kept informed. www.halesworthtowncouncil.
org.uk
However, several good results
could come out of the proposed expansion of Halesworth. Firstly, the infrastructure has to be improved significantly if any of these developments are going to go ahead and this includes not only the physical infrastructure such as the sewerage system but also the provision of educational and medical services. Secondly,

up to 30% of the houses being built will be classified as affordable, with a percentage to be built for rent. Few people are on the housing
register (Homechoice) probably because the system is not well known. If anybody is in housing need or knows somebody who might be then please visit https://
www.gatewaytohomechoice.
org.uk. This can also be accessed via East Suffolk’s (Waveney District Council) website http://
www.eastsuffolk.gov.uk/housing Your application will be assessed according to the allocation policy and you will be placed into one of five bands (Bands A - E), depending on your level of housing need. Once you are registered you will be notified of properties that are available on a weekly basis and you can also search for properties on the website. Urban Improvement Work
Group - In view of the dramatic changes which are going to take place over the next few years it has been decided to establish a work Group of interested residents to look at all aspects of the physical infrastructure in Halesworth, including traffic flows, speed limits, signage, street furniture, etc. This will be largely resident led with Council support. A report will
be compiled which will be used to insure that Halesworth will be able to benefit from the planned expansion. So far three residents have put themselves forward and the inaugural meeting is being planned for the near future. If anybody still wishes to have an input into Halesworth’s future then please contact the Town Clerk on 01986 874517. Thoroughfare Car Park -
The Town Council would like to thank Waveney Norse for undertaking the work in the Thoroughfare car park. After a long wait, the bottom of the entrance ramp to the car park, which frequently flooded, has been repaired and hopefully we will no longer have this hazard to negotiate when it rains. Free First Hour Parking
- The current arrangement for the free first hour parking in the Thoroughfare car park is due to expire at the end of March. However as already reported, the sum required for Waveney DC to continue for the next year has been achieved and the free first hour parking will continue from the 1st April 2017 until 31st March 2018. What will happen after March next year will not be known until discussions start again with WDC towards the end of the year.
