WELL DESIGNED QUALITY FROM AQUAFLEX

Aquaflex is a name that always springs to mind when the subject of pool lining is raised. Known for quality, the company manufactures their tailored liners from the best 30 thou vinyl material available that offers a variety of patterns and colours and provides the highest possible standards of weld quality and shaping accuracy. On site lining has seen tremendous growth in recent times as both domestic and commercial customers recognise the cost effective advantages of the method. Aquaflex Alkorplan on site lining comes with a ten year warranty. Upkeep is minimal and whilst grouting can quickly become discoloured and marbelite faded, Alkorplan retains its looks and resilience for many years, saving pool owners time and money. Aquaflex employ their own teams of installers ensuring a professional and perfect finish every time.

A WEALTH OF EXPERIENCE FROM PLASTICA

Operating from a small warehouse in Chelsea and already an established manufacturer of solar and winter debris covers, 1976 proved to be a landmark year for Plastica. In the mid-70s most pool liners were manufactured in the USA, consequently the liner lead times to the UK caused severe delays in what proved to be an exceptionally warm summer. Pool installers were virtually pleading with UK equipment suppliers to fabricate pool liners. Plastica, having already set up with a couple of small, high frequency welding machines for pool covers, decided to take a gamble and began to manufacture pool liners.

Things have moved on over the past 40 years, today Plastica manufactures pool liners from a site measuring in excess of 120,000 sq ft, utilising state-of-the-art equipment, including a bespoke plotter/cutter, beading welder equipment, track welding machinery and an array of specialist automated PVC liner welding machinery. The equipment investment cost more than £600,000. Plastica now manufacture and export pool liners throughout Europe and beyond. Liner exports continue to grow.

Managing Director Edward

is designed to provide pools with a beautiful natural ‘touch’ and look; giving bathers the sensation of swimming in a natural environment whilst never compromising on the high protection aspect expected from all Alkorplan products. Multiple layers of acrylic varnish ensure a finish which will remain looking amazing for many years and provide

a high level of resilience that will effectively withstand the punishing conditions found in swimming pools. The 3D embossed Touch range is available in three different patterns; Touch Authentic, Touch Relax and Touch Elegance – all designed to give any pool a stunning natural looking finish.

Campbell-Salmon commented that many of their trade liner customers have remained loyal to Plastica since the late 70s and early 80s. Making a quality liner is not just about investing in the right equipment, it’s about investing in the right people. Their Liner team have a wealth of experience; for example, Andy James, (Liner Production Manager) and Will Dando (Technical Manager) have, collectively, 60 years of liner experience between the two of them! Pool owners have no idea just how much work is needed to produce a quality liner. Plastica believe that a liner is not just a commodity, their customers depend on them getting it right every time. It’s an area of business that they excel in.
