We are opening a new Guide Unit for the young people of Loftus. It will be open weekly for girls aged 10 to 14 years, who are interested in trying out new activities including camping, crafts, cooking and art. We will be based in the Old Co-op, and would love to share this with the wider community. It’s a real opportunity for young women in Loftus to get involved with exciting opportunities. The unit is being supported by both St Joseph’s RC and St Lenards Cof E.

Work to improve the surface of the bridleway between the Station Hotel, Boosbeck and the Fox & Hounds, Slapewath, i.e. along the old railway line and past the Margrove ponds has recently been completed. This was funded by the Local Transport Plan and the intention was to bring the route up to a similar standard as the Guisborough Walkway. The job was carried out in two stages, the first was accessed from the playing field (Pit Yard) at Boosbeck, the second from the rear of the Fox & Hounds.
