ASM; Is your concentration in getting players abroad affecting your team’s trophy chances?
MK; I think we have been trying to do our best, having players moving from our team is hard to cope with but we are trying hard and we are al- ways replacing them with good players from across the country.
ASM; What do you make of Sierra Leone’s re- cent FIFA rankings; we are now in 63rd position globally.
MK; I cannot express how happy I am as I saw us moving five places up. The players should be credited for this, they have been doing ex- ceedingly well and I am impressed with their commitment and attitude whenever they come home to play.
ASM; There are local reports that you have snapped up one of the teenage sensa- tions in the just concluded Airtel Rising Star, Sierra Leone, Patrick Gbinda.
MK; We agreed to a deal with his manager and we think he is a very good player.
ASM; You met once with another famous Sierra Leonean born athlete, Eunice Barber in France. What’s your impression about her?
MK; She is a very nice lady and I recall been out there for quite a long time, she is a very nice person and still loves Sierra Leone. You know in Africa in general it’s difficult to do it here as a sportsman. To reap the benefit is quite difficult and athletes are not even treated with due respect and dignity.
ASM; What’s the next big thing we are going to expect from Mohamed Kallon?
MK; I am planning a surprise football package; my main aim now is to develop the ca- pacity of football in Sierra Leone. FC Kallon is surely going to be a key in my football aspiration and the next big thing will surely surround something around it.
