GRIMSBY AND IMMINGHAM PORTS LOCATION

Located on the south bank of the Humber Estuary, the ports of Grimsby and Immingham are ideally located for easy access to the offshore wind zones in the North Sea. The ports are situated between the Dogger Bank zone to the North and the Norfolk zone to the south with the Hornsea zone 40 miles from Grimsby.

GRIMSBY The port of Grimsby is already an established centre of excellence for operations and maintenance activities for Round 1 and 2 wind farms in the North Sea. Companies such as Siemens, Centrica and RES are already operating on the port estate. Grimsby offers a number of sites suitable for the development of the O&M industry, as well as other offshore wind-associated activities.

NEW GRIMSBY EAST TERMINAL By re-engineering some of the existing port business, ABP has created the new Grimsby East Terminal area, which, with 14 acres of quay land and 4,000 square metres of covered warehousing, offers

a unique opportunity for a business to develop offshore wind support services.

IMMINGHAM With over 100 acres of land in the port, ABP’s Port of Immingham offers a range of sites suitable for offshore wind activities. Immingham is a deepwater port with jetties capable of handling capesize and post panamax vessels.

The port of Immingham’s location on the Humber means it’s in a prime position to respond to North Sea offshore wind related

activities, as well as having excellent road and rail links to the rest of the country.

The port, which handles more than 55 million tonnes of cargo, has many existing building and warehousing facilities on site, a number of which are capable of being developed for purpose-built offshore wind related amenities.
