Bring Joy to everyone Revox

Swiss audio specialist Revox is showcasing Revox Joy, its latest audio network receiver. The unit enables the latest streaming functions as well as the connection of classical audio sources. Both optically and acoustically, it complements the glass-fronted speakers from the Re:sound G series, and can be operated through the manufac- turer’s S232 app for the iPhone and iPad or through a remote control combining wireless com- munication with infrared. It has a frequency range of 5Hz-55kHz, and has two ana- logue, two optical digital, and two coaxial digital inputs provid- ing 16-, 20- and 24-bit PCM respectively. As a classical streaming prod- uct, the Revox Joy can take advantage of a wide range of sources including network drives, PCs and all USB storage media. It gives access to over 20,000 radio stations and more than 2 million podcasts over the

New from Totem Acoustic is the Tribe Kin Series, billed as its most compact and affordable in-wall and in-ceiling architectural sound solution to date. Tribe Kin comes in three mod-

An integrated, high-end amplifier with 2 x 60W sinus (S119) or 2 x 120W sinus (S120) provides a clear sound picture; and as standard, the sound repro- duction of the Revox Joy is matched to all of the manufac- turer’s loudspeakers. The Revox Joy is housed in a lacquered 4mm aluminium cas- ing and stands 9cm high. It is available in silver with a black glass front panel or completely in white.

els: in-wall, in-ceiling and in-wall side/centre. Each utilises Totem’s interrelated proprietary MXEC cone woofers and hyper-extend- ing dome tweeters, which, accord- ing to the company, provide a

piece wood construction and fea- tures a steel-buttressed front facade and flat cushioned grill, along with an outer rear dampening brace. It boasts bi-wire gold-plated termi- nals and optimally tuned passive radiators which incorporate mica- loaded polypropylene diaphragms. Its twin 4in woofers are die-cast aluminium framed, and its MHEX cones are made of multiple layers of phenolic honeycomb and

woven synthetics, making them non-resonant and rigid, and capa- ble of holding a 50kg load. Tribe Kin’s linear (to 40kHz)

soft-dome, high-excursion tweeter is chambered and neodymium- activated, with a super-low 750Hz resonance frequency. Unusually, the crossover has no

resistors within its circuit: it is a 225g litz copper air core coil woofer inductor, and has a PP foil capacitor with sterling silver leads to the tweeter. Stand: 7-R164

Conferencing system has new mobile app BXB

Japan’s BXB is introducing mobile management to its conferencing system, via its new iOS app. The BXB iOS app is designed to

work with the iPhone and the iPad, and users are able to pro- gram remote conferencing mode

settings via a simple menu. Cam- era position and focus can be set on both devices; and on the iPad, one can also set meeting place and microphone allocation. In addition, the TCP/IP com- munication-based architecture inte- grates with BXB’s control software so the app can be run either inde- pendently or on multiple devices via WiFi through a wireless AP. BXB also claims to have revolu- tionised microphone ID setting

technique by replacing DIP switches with digital encoding, allowing users to easily assign any ID to any connected microphone. In adopting the latest-genera- tion DSP chip, BXB says it has made major enhancements in ambient noise cancellation, speaker protection, environment noise compensation and AGC ability, as well as mobile anti-interference on its latest gooseneck mic range.
