EML Q&A

Express Yourself

Andy Southam, Sales Director at EML Express, gives us an insight into the development of an award-winning business.

A1: EML Express has been trading for over 25 years - what do you think is the secret of your success? Andy Southam: We believe our success is down to innovative displays at competitive prices, with a service level that is second to none. Our ethos is based on “service first”, which we feel gives us a competitive advantage over our competition. Our standard range is not our only product, we also have a significant bespoke design to manufacturing facility and we work hard to ensure that we do not get pigeonholed into just being a catalogue business. Our EML Express website is designed to offer a range of quick turnaround products from our total business offer as part of our service to buyers operating in the increasingly fastpaced retail marketplace.

A1: You’re a business that’s constantly evolving; what changes have you made recently to keep up with altering retail needs? AS: Retail constantly evolves, and it’s down to us to not only follow trends but to innovate new ones. The economy has made it more challenging for retailers and one of our latest products is a range of point of sale displays made from recycled P.E.T bottles, which ticks every box from environmental consideration to cost effectiveness. In addition to this, we are constantly investing in new technologies and machinery to maintain our high quality product offering at competitive prices.
