A Day in the Life of...

I’ve always been a retailer; I started working for BHS after I left school and over 30 years later I’m still in the same industry. Retail Trust is a charity that looks after everyone in retail and, having been an active supporter of the charity for a number of years, I was appointed Chief Executive nine years ago. need to maintain effective networks. A perfect example of this is my role as Chairman of the Ella Foundation, an organisation that aims to inspire leaders of charities and social enterprises to achieve their full potential. It’s something about which I am extremely passionate, and though it doesn’t require a great deal of my time, I think it’s important to look beyond one’s own organisation for inspiration from time to time.
