MANAGER OF THE MONTH
Toby Davies Sales Sheriff, Trunki
What was your first job in the toy industry?
I used to be a field sales rep for Oasis Art and Crafts.
What do you love most about working in the industry? The amazing products. Now I have a young family I have a legitimate reason for playing with all the new toys that I could only dream of owning as a kid, but also so many that are still around that I loved so much 20 years ago.
What would you do if you weren’t in your current role? I’d be working as a conservationist somewhere abroad.

What does your average working day consist of?
NOVEMBER 2011
There is no such thing as an average day here at Trunki, but my general duties are managing and developing the sales team, forecasting, looking after our largest customers needs, and above all making sure we stay ahead of budget.
What’s the best bit about your role? I love being able to go down the slide rather than walk down to the meeting rooms. But also, right now it’s got to be being part of a team who all share the same vision for the company and passion for the products.
And the worst? Very unoriginal but has to be too many emails. And spec sheets.
Where do you hope your career will have taken you in five years time?
Sales director within the toy or nursery Industry.
Use three words to describe yourself: Dynamic, passionate, loyal.
Who would play you in Trunki: The Movie? If were up to me, naturally it would be someone like Hugh Jackman. If you ask my friends, as I did, then it’s a cross between Ricky Gervais’ David Brent from The Office and Ross Geller from Friends, played by David Schwimmer.
