With lots of new product launches for spring/summer 2012, Haba continues to concentrate on making learning a fun packed experience for children. A prime example is the Big Optics
Workshop, which won the Kind und Jugend 2011 Award for Innovation and aims fascinate young children with different optical effects.
The workshop combines colours and shapes with lots to discover from patterns to motion effects. There are ten pieces of beech wood including mirror blocks, coloured spinning blocks, kaleidoscope, plus a prism with four picture cards and a cinema block with animal tiles.
The addition of a Basic Optics pack
to Haba’s Construction Blocks Discovering Technics introduces optical effects to slightly older children, fostering an understanding of basic physics such as statics, dynamics and gravity in a playful manner. Using a simple transmission these
creative constructions can start to move, leading to more optical effects and setting patterns in motion. There is also film drum to help young explorers
JUMBO GAMES
Jumbo will produce games and puzzles featuring the colourful jungle animals from Disney Junior’s BAFTA nominated pre-school series Jungle Junction. The puzzles has an RRP of £5.99 and is a four x 35-piece assortment, a two in a box puzzle and a 15-piece giant floor puzzle with a range of low price point games to follow.
Jumbo will also expand its
portfolio of licensed pre-school puzzles and games in 2012 with the addition of Raa Raa the Noisy Lion. Also retailing at around £5.99, the puzzles feature Raa Raa and other characters from the show. The puzzle collection includes: a four x 35-piece assortment, four shaped puzzles in a box and a 15-piece shaped floor puzzle.
The first quarter of 2012 sees the arrival of 60 new Playmobil products across ten ranges, nearly double the amount of lines launched in Q1 2011. The police range will add a new Police
Van, which comes fully equipped and ready to spring into action as the Safe Cracker with Getaway Car tries to steal the town’s money. Launching in January, this will be advertised on TV during February half-term. Launching in February is the new Harbour range. The main Harbour Ferry with Pier floats on water and is large enough to take any Playmobil vehicle, which can be loaded via on the ramps at each end. The Harbour Police play-set has a lockable jail cell and police boat for problems at sea.

advertising over the Easter period. Finally, the second series of the new
Fi?ures collectible range will be launched early 2012, with 24 more characters ready to be mixed and matched by boys and girls.

Schleich’s play worlds will soon be extended with a programme of January launches including new figures for the World of Nature to expand children’s play experiences even further. The Wild Life and Farm Life collections see the biggest intake of animals introducing new breeds and the completion of many animal families, together with new human figurines and accessories.
New additions to the Farm Life collection for spring include goats, alpacas and a fabulous selection of new horses. In human figures there is a new ‘children on holiday’ series to provide further role-play scenarios.

IMC has developed two products ideal for use outdoor featuring Disney Princess. Next spring/summer girls can jump to the rhythm of IMC’s Musical Skipping rope and Musical Jumping hoops. These two classical toys incorporate a movement sensor that activates the music each time the girls
start jumping. The skipping rope is adjustable to play alone or to play with friends and musical hoop has a special light. Fufris are plush animals – when their hands are squeezed they laugh and also pass wind. There is a Monkey, a Rabbit and a Pig.
