New Bakugan Mechtanium Surge introduces the first ever die-cast Bakugan and all new Mechtogan, a range of 20 collectable action figures that transform when activated. The Mechtogan and the larger Mechtogan Titan figures both appear in the new animated TV series to be broadcast on Cartoon Network from January. Other new lines include the ever popular Launch Pod, Extension Pack and Triple Threat. The range will be backed with three new TV ad creatives, print and PR. Zoobles, the number two girls’ collectable
(NPD EPOS July YTD), introduces two new worlds to the Zoobles Isle – Cloud Cove and Coralloo – where all new Zoobles singles will come with Linkooble Happitats for connecting and playing together. There will be a new TV feature ad running alongside Mama’s & Zooblings which has proved popular with girls in 2011.
The Air Hogs Vectron Wave will be back on television screens around Easter 2012.
MEGA BRANDS
Mega Bloks’ new Power Rangers Samurai range will feature buildable vehicles and classic heroes. Children can build and collect the new range based on the TV series. The highly anticipated 3-in-1 build Samurai Megazord, aims to provide complex construction and post-build action. Set to be a big hit, the collectable Micro Action Figures include extra rare gold figures in selected packs (£1.99). The collection also includes a variety of fantasy vehicles that offer multiple build and rebuild opportunities, complete with working key launchers, weapons and accessories. Another new addition to the Mega Bloks licensed portfolio is The Amazing Spider- Man collection. Launching in July 2012 to coincide with the release of the movie, the range includes collectable characters, Spider-Man & Lizard man poseable techbots with working launchers, buildable battle action pocket racers and speeders.
LEAPFROG
Following the launch of Tag World Map, LeapFrog is set to introduce the interactive Tag Solar System Adventure Map. Designed for children aged four to eight
years old, the new addition to the Tag software library will be available from January at £16.99. The Solar System Adventure Map has more than 40 learning activities and family-friendly games to choose from, encouraging children to learn about the solar system and discover planetary facts. The 2-in-1 map, which unfolds
to over three feet wide, is also designed to teach children about the relative size and distance of
planets. Additionally, children and parents can explore more activities online by connecting the Tag reader to the LeapFrog Connected database. Children can earn online rewards and uncover more games, while parents can also log on to the LeapFrog Learning Path to monitor their child’s learning progress.
Another new addition to the pre- school range is the
LeapFrog My Own Story Time Pad, giving children the chance to have their own Kindle style e-book reader.
Play-sets include the Oscorp spider lab, Manhattan bridge showdown and Sewer lab HQ, which all include special parts and stickers for customisation. Last but not least, the range finishes with the ultimate Oscorp Tower Battle which includes a buildable tower top with antenna and web trap, crane, SWAT helicopter with launcher, Chrome-Eyes Spiderman, Savage Lizard Man and Lizard SWAT Man. Mega Bloks will also be building on its
pre-school junior construction range in spring/summer 2012 to continue to help children aged over one learn and develop from while offering great value, endless build opportunities. The 3-in-1 Build ‘n Go Walker, Maxi Tubs and Build n’ Go Wagon ranges will see lots of new products joining throughout the year.
