Plum has a number of new products ready to launch in 2012.


Plum has focused on expanding its small wood products and accessories to create a product range for 2012. All of the products are single box items and will be displayed in colourful retail packaging designed to fit into every size of store.


Plum has extended its sand pit


product range for next year, introducing a number of new concepts. The


company’s in-house design team has focused on play value, creating a variety of multi-purpose sand and water tables. These products will be on show at Toy Fair London Olympia in January 2012 and International Toy Fair Nuremberg in February 2012.


2012 will also see Plum expand into indoor play with themed Play Panels available in a variety of brightly coloured themes. They can be used indoors and outdoors and can create a whole street.

MGA Entertainment has several launches lined up for spring 2012, including expansions to its Lalaloopsy doll range, as well additions to the Bratz and Moxie Girlz lines. New characters joining the Lalaloopsy


large doll range include the Rosy Bumps and Bruises and Ember Flicker Flame. There will be eight new dolls added to the existing range this spring, making a total of 32 different characters to collect. The forthcoming Lalaloopsy Sew Magical Mermaid doll (£29.99) has a dress that transforms into a mermaid’s tail and her hair also changes colour when under water. Supported by spring TV, the new product will build on the Lalaloopsy Silly Hair doll. Other additions are the lower-price point Lalaloopsy Littles, younger siblings to the original Lalaloopsy dolls, as well as the collectable Lalaloopsy Micro characters in foil bags – retailing at around £2.99, there are 24 to collect in total with more to come. Also new in collectables is the Mini Lalaloopsy range, retailing at around £5.99, as well as a Mini Lalaloopsy Sew Sweet House Play-set featuring two exclusive dolls, an attic for pets, a wind up garden hose, a balcony and more. A new Mini Lalaloopsy RC car can fit up to two dolls and includes a doll and pet. MGA’s Bratz range will have several new themes including Bratz Catz dolls, Bratz Featherageous dolls, and Bratz Neon Runway dolls. Bratz dolls are suitable for children ages six plus. Additions to the Moxie Girlz range include Magic Swim Mermaid dolls, Moxie Girlz Glitterin’ Style dolls, Moxie Girlz Ballerina Star dolls, which feature fully articulated joints, and Moxie Girlz Sweet Style dolls, which have bright

fashions, a scent and colourful hair. Kachooz, launched in autumn 2011,


are collectable pencil toppers with frizzy fun hair. Spring will see further new characters available in the range including, Nerds and Rockstars. Kachooz are available in a two pack (£3.99) and a four pack. Kachooz Kachatz will also be


introduced. The interactive Kachooz Katchatz have special motion sensor technology and when the child interacts and moves, the Kachooz will react and even speak in their own language. Kachooz are suitable for children ages four plus.


The VTech Switch & Go Dinos range includes four cars which each transform into a different dinosaur, either a T-Rex, Pteranodon, Stegosaurs or a Triceratops. The versatile and interactive Dash & Discover Dinos have an interchangeable screen and play sound effects of cars and dinosaurs as they are pushed along or transformed. Push buttons activate exciting dinosaur facts, which are reinforced by the educational flash card included with each dino. Suitable for kids aged three and up. There are also a number of new additions to the VTech Toot-Toot Drivers range. The collectable vehicles all interact with the existing Toot-Toot Drivers Garage and include a cement mixer, tractor and helicopter. Each of the new vehicles feature three songs, as well as fun phrases and realistic sound effects. The Toot-Toot Drivers Traffic Tracks


and Fire Station are also new, providing two additional play settings for the Toot- Toot Drivers, which recognise and fully interact with all the vehicles in the range. The Traffic Tracks introduce colours and traffic concepts by incorporating light-up stop and go lights as well as realistic traffic sounds. The fire station has a spinning light-up siren, vehicle eject button for emergency effect, fire hose and twisting fire extinguisher. Both come complete with the appropriate vehicle and include sing-along songs and melodies. Currently the number one property in

Early 2012 will see Esdevium add several new lines to its games portfolio. Esdevium has re-released the updated


version of the family game Hey, That’s My Fish! (£9.99). In this game of fishy theft, players move their penguins around a rapidly disappearing board, collecting as many fish as possible along the way. Esdevium will be giving the game strong marketing support throughout 2012. After the release of


Take Me Out in 2011, Esdevium will release the board game version of another BBC comedy panel show, Would I Lie To You? The show is now in its fifth series with its highest ever ratings of four million viewers. The game will remain faithful to the TV show

Infant and Pre-school (July YTD), VTech Baby will look to consolidate its position as market leader. New products include The Alfie Lullaby Comforter, which sees Alfie evolve into a comforter made of soft tactile fabric made for cuddling. It also plays 25 soft melodies to soothe baby and if the bear is gently shaken a motion sensor triggers a variety of responses.


Also coming to the VTech baby range is the Touch and Teach Puppet. For children between 16 and 36 months, it’s designed to encourage interaction


between parent and baby, the puppet helps introduce animals, numbers and music. It


includes melodies, sing- along songs as well as a variety of animal stories.
