New man at the UC wheel
TDAzlan has a new man steering its drive into the unified communications and collaboration markets – Joel Chimoindes, incoming Director of TDAzlan Unified Communications – who boasts more than 14 years of business development experience in the distribution sector. Chimoindes stated: “TDAzlan’s investment in developing unified communications propositions, together with the relationships it has with many
technology vendors, provides us with an opportunity to build a significant business.” He joined TDAzlan from Avnet where he most recently held a similar position to his new role. He previously enjoyed spells at both Horizon and Imago Group.

RECRUITMENT in the comms channel is clearly on the up as demand continues for staff at all levels throughout the UK. TTR has seen enquiries soar for permanent staff vacancies. Sales, telesales and technical skills are still the front runners in the recruitment race, but there is also growing demand for support and admin staff.
This recruitment activity is a good sign that ‘recruitment’ is not the dirty word it was just a year ago. Companies are now being stretched and forced to employ additional staff. This is good news for all concerned in our channel. The ongoing demand and increase in recruitment is a fair reflection of how our channel partners are doing in business. Generally speaking, the more business they do the more staff they need. However, there is still a long way to go and telecoms companies are working hard to fill holes to get back to the glory days. Internet Central chief paves way for growth phase
INTERNET Central’s new MD, Maitland Hyslop, is already energising the business and paving the way towards a new growth phase. The former Director of Market Management and Development at NHS Surrey enthused: “I am looking at all aspects of the business, from improving our customer service through to launching new products and services. Our plan is to revitalise the Internet Central brand and drive the business forward.” Maitland, a recognised author and authority on security and business continuity, held previous roles as Chief Operating Officer at Onyx IT, and prior to that head of knowledge, information and ICT at regional development agency One NorthEast.

NEOWAVE has appointed Paul Brown as a solution specialist to its technical team. He has a six year stint as an installation engineer under his belt and a further eight years as a support engineer.
